  Bangkok Airways is a Thai airline, with its headquarters based at Bangkok. The airline serves the domestic routes of Thailand and numerous Asian destinations. Bangkok Airways began operating in 1968 as an air taxi service and later in 1986 commencing scheduled flights. In the last decade the airline has acquired jet aircraft for its fleet and there are plans for more in the coming years, to reach more distant destinations. The progress the airline has made was recognised at the Skytrax's 2011 Airline Awards held in Paris, with Bangkok Airways coming third Best Regional Airline for the competitive Asian Region.

  Bangkok Airways is considered a 4 star airline, with a small aircraft fleet of 18 planes (Jan 2010) travelling to 15 destinations. The safety record of the airline is good in recent years, excepting for an incident in Aug 2009, when a domestic flight skidded off the runway, resulting in the death of one of the pilots and 10 injured passengers. There are two categories of ticket available - Business and Economy Class on flights. The cabin service and conditions are a high standard,with a high passenger approval. Inflight entertainment is limited, as most flights are short haul. Catering is a high standard and is free in both cabin areas.   Thai Air Asia is a low cost airline with its headquarters based in Bangkok. The airline, which is partly owned by the Air Asia Group began operating in 2004. Air Asia has been a very successful low cost airline and this success has continued with its Thai subsidiary. Thai Air Asia has built up a large domestic route network and has recently opened up other Asian flight destinations to India and China.

  Thai Air Asia is considered a 3 star airline with an aircraft fleet of 23 planes and travelling to 24 destinations. The safety record of the airline is very good with no incidents/accidents recorded to date. There is only one category of ticket available - Economy Class on flights. The cabin service and conditions are a good standard for a low cost airline although inflight entertainment is limited as flights are mostly short haul. The airline's website is user friendly and easy to make a flight booking.

  Thai Airways International is the national and largest airline in Thailand,with its headquarters based in Bangkok. The airline began operating in 1960 as a joint venture with the airline SAS (Scandinavian Airlines Systems),which provided the expertise required for Thai Airways to develop into an independent national airline. By 1977,the Thai Government had purchased the SAS shareholding and have total ownership of the airline. On the 50th anniversary in 2010 Thai Airways announced plans for modernising and increasing its fleet of planes and so extending the international route network and also plans for launching a new domestic airline - Thai Smile. Thai Airways has made significant progress being recognised at the Skytrax's Airline Awards held in Paris with the awards Best Airline Economy Class Cabin Seats and Best Airline Economy Class Onboard Catering.

The cabin service and conditions are a high standard in all cabin areas,with high passenger approval.Thai Airways is one of the few airlines that female cabin staff change onboard into traditional dress. Catering is a high standard in all cabin areas,with Thai Airways winning a hygiene award from the World Health Organistion for excellent attention to hygiene for food and cabin conditions.Inflight entertainment is a high standard, providing individual TV monitors with videos on demand.
