Cebu Pacific Air is a Philippine low cost airline with headquarters based at Pasay City,MetroManila. The airline privately owned began operating in 1996 and by 2011 had flown 50 million passengers to domestic and international destinations. Cebu Pacific Air has been successful in recent years and expanded the aircraft fleet and destination routes. In 2010 the European Union imposed a ban on all Philippine airlines due to safety issues not reaching levels set down by the European Union.
Cebu Pacific Air is considered a 3 star airline with an aircraft fleet of 39 new planes ( Dec 2010 ) and travelling to 52 destinations, mostly domestic and Asian routes. The safety record of the airline in recent years is good, although in 2012, a Cebu Pacific Air flight came close to another plane on the tarmac at a domestic airport,damaging guide lights of the other plane. The cabin service and conditions are a good standard with good passenger approval. Inflight entertainment is limited, as most flights are short haul. Catering is available but on a buy on board basis. There is only one category of ticket available - Economy Class. The airline's website is user friendly and easy to make a flight booking.
