Wizz Air is a Hungarian budget airline, with headquarters based at the International Airport at Budapest. The airline owned by an American private company began operations recently in 2004 and has now become the main carrier of Hungary, with the largest aircraft fleet in the country. Wizz Air has grown in recent years setting up bases in Poland,Serbia and Ukraine and by selecting minor city airports are able to reduce landing cost fees. The airline has become popular with passengers and at the 2012 Skytrax World Airline Awards,held in the UK, was rated fifth Best European Low Cost Airline and sixth Best East European Regional Airline.
Wizz Air is considered a 3 star airline with a modern aircraft fleet of 36 planes ( Apr 2012 ) and travelling to 66 destinations. The safety record of the airline is good with no recent incidents or accidents recorded. The cabin service and conditions are good for a budget airline. Inflight entertainment is limited as most flights are short haul. Catering is available on a buy on board basis. There is one category of ticket available on flights - Economy Class. Customer help support for cancellations and excess baggage does not score as high. The airline's website is user friendly and easy to make a flight booking.
