Croatia Airlines is the national carrier of Croatia with headquarters based in Zagreb. The airline began operating in 1989 as a state owned company. Croatia Airlines had to suspend operations in the 1990's, as a result of the military conflict in Yugoslavia. With the end of the conflict the airline was able to expand the aircraft fleet and air routes and become successful. At the 2012 Skytrax World Airline Awards, Croatia Airlines were rated fourth Best East European Regional Airline.
Croatia Airlines is considered a 3 star airline with a small aircraft fleet of 13 planes ( April 2012 ) and travelling to 27 destinations. The safety record of the airline is good with no recent incidents or accidents recorded to date. The cabin service and conditions are good standard with good passenger approval. Inflight entertainment is limited as most flights are short haul. Complimentary food is provided on flights.There are two categories of ticket available on flights - Business and Economy Class.
