Although merged the two airlines operate separately, under their own brand names.

The safety record of the airline in recent years is good,with only an incident in 2007,which had no injuries reported. Passenger approval reports for Economy Class have not scored high for cabin service and conditions and the inflight entertainment available on flights. Spanair is a Spanish airline with its headquarters based near Barcelona. Up to 2009 Spanair was a subsidiary of Scandinavian Airlines but was taken over by a consortium of investors. The airline began operating in 1988, offering scheduled flights to worldwide destinations. In 2011 the airline faced financial difficulties but with government assistance was able to continue to operate and applying cost saving policies with the result that no further assistance has been required.
Spanair is considered a 3 star airline with a small aircraft fleet of 29 planes ( Nov 2011) and travelling to 40 destinations. The safety record has been good, excepting the incident in 2009, when a flight going to Las Palmas crashed after take off at Madrid airport, when 153 people lost their lives. The findings of the initial investigation found there was no deployment of flaps and the failing of the take off warning system.
There are two ticket categories available - Business and Economy Class. The cabin service and conditions are good,although seat comfort and inflight entertainment do not score as high. The airline's website is user friendly and easy for booking a flight.

In 2009 Vueling merged with the airline Clickair, resulting in the newly formed company becoming the second largest airline in Spain.

The safety record of the airline is good with no incidents recorded to date. There is one category of ticket available on flights - Economy Class.
